点评:Wow this was much larger than I expected for an out of the way ruin! I was impressed with the care of the grounds, there was a very nice walking path- an original sacbe maybe? And many unusual trees and plants all around. The path was clearly marked in both directions and trees were labeled with their names. There was a very nice man at the entrance who shared information about the best way to enter etc. I later found out he was a guide, but we were there for a quick look around, didn’t really want a tour, although they can give a wealth of information and knowledge. I wish I would have tipped him before going in, he was not pushy about his services. The entrance fee was 75 pesos and worth it! A previous post said the road was in bad condition, but it was like any un paved road- a bit bumpy but you take your time. We had no problem passing. We been to many ruins and I was impressed with this one- we passed one other traveler and the groundskeeper! But the mosquitoes were out in full force, even though this is the dry season and has not been any rain! We stopped for fresh fish for lunch in the town of friendly locals before heading back to Bacalar. A nice side trip on our month long visit!
