One of the best on the Island

点评：Sunday 6th October and we visited this remote beach on northern side of the island in the vicinity of Puntallana.
We parked up at the top of the cliff and headed off down the coastal path, which was 0.6 kilometre long, according to the nearby signpost. The pathway which comprised of a series of steps and some flattened and paved path, it took us along the rugged and stunning coastline. Thankfully there was a handrail along the pathway.
We arrived at a point where we overlooked the beach and what a sight, it was worth the walk. The crescent shaped beach with it's black volcanic sand was washed by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. At the back of the beach were very colourful cliffs with some beautiful rock formations.
As we made our way down to the beach we passed a wooden hut, it and the surrounding area was reserved for surfers, with facilities for their use.
Due to tidal conditions here the beach is popular with surfers. It's remoteness also attracts naturists and those seeking some peace and quiet by the sea.
Having walked along the beach, enjoying the scenery and tranquility, it was time to return to the car by climbing back up all the steps.
It was definitely worth the effort to make our way to the beach, one of the most beautiful on the island.
