点评:Very steep steps to climb to the top before you reach the temple complex. You have the ornate gateway entrance and the shrine itself, which makes this one of the better shrines to visit in Nagasaki. You do have good views looking back towards the city from the top too. I noticed a steady stream of people coming up to pay their respects and there is a small shrine shop to the left on entry with a digital information shrine board nearby too.
I found this quite interesting to learn about the correct way to cleanse oneself before prayer and how to pay ones respects, as the touch screen provided this information in English as well as Japanese. The information board can also tell you about different talismans and spirits too.
As I visited in winter part of the shrine complex towards the back was taped off, not sure if there was more to see. Adjoining the shrine complex is a small public park which is to the left on entry and can follow the paths from there back down towards the city via a more scenic route to the History and Culture Museum.
