Cala Luna: Renting a boat is easy and worth it

点评：Did this trip in early October 2024. The weather was very nice and the water was a lovely temperature. We rented a boat, which they very easy thing to do. No need to look for the best deal. All the vendors charge pretty much the same same and they all have kiosks at the harbor in Cala Gonome. Although there are warnings not to get within 100 meters of the shore, many many boats cruise along the cliff edge, including the professional operators. It’s all matter how brave you are. The shore is beautiful and, because most of it is cliffs coming right down to the water, there are only a few beaches in which you could park your boat, other than those that are well known and likely very crowded in the summer. We did some snorkeling in a quiet spot, dropping our anchor about 20 yards offshore. Was well worth it and four hours is plenty of time. We paid €25 for our snorkel and mask at the docs in Cala Gonome. Even in early October, there was a bit of a boat traffic jam at the beach where the large caves are. We decided to just drop anchor offshore and swim in. It was the right decision. Age 68 with my wife and 2 of our children. Parking could be a bit tough in Cala Gonome in high season.
