点评:We had been on a cruise ship throughout Japan and this was one of the highlights for my husband and me. The castle is a 1600's structure that was built on a mountain that now overlooks the city of Matsuyama. The castle is well visited by many people and is a national historic site. The tenshu, six yagura watchtowers, and several gates remain from the original castle. We got there fairly early, so we managed to avoid large crowds. We rode up and down on the chair lift, which I thought was likely more enjoyable than the very crowded cable car. The museum has multiple floors to visit and a visitor has to be extremely careful while going up and down the very small wooden steps. The stone walls outside of the castle were very impressive. My photos and those of others who have posted here will tell you much about what you will see there. What was especially enjoyable during our visit were the many cherry trees in full bloom.
