点评：Not for western tourists !!!!!!
Why ?
Because the locals and staff who live on the jetties, start singing karaoke at 06 in the morning until late late night, with no respect for tourists who want to sleep.
Also local tourists and other Asian tourists do that.
Because local tourists and staff throw rubbish straight out to the sea, even kitchen wasted goes straight out from the jetty.
Boat and tour operator staff also throw rubbish and cigaretts straight out to the sea... No respect for the nature.
Only 2 dive resorts, owned by foreigners, have septic tanks... All others, and there are many, toilet waste goes straight out to the sea.
Beaches are gone since too many jetties have been built, only a small piece of sand left at the end of the island (and the reason is because president Prabowo owns that land).
Breakfast is mostly non existent, a few dry sponge cakes.
So forget about Derawan and go to other islands.
If you are a western diver and just have to come here to dive - stay only in the western owned resorts. But also there you will be woken up by karaoke.
They compete here about who has the biggest speakers.
Its a pity - this island had so much potential years ago, but they destroyed it themselves.
Now their income comes from local package tours only and people behave accordingly.
Sad.

如果你是西方潜水员，而且必须来这里潜水 - 那就只能住在西方人拥有的度假村。但在那里，你也会被卡拉 OK 吵醒。
他们在这里比赛谁的喇叭最大。
真可惜 - 这个岛几年前有很大潜力，但他们自己毁了它。
现在他们的收入仅来自当地的旅行团，人们的行为也因此而改变。
