点评:We went in March and this place was heaving, so I couldn’t imagine how busy it would be in summer or around Halloween.
The castle is beautiful and it has a proud and distinguished history far beyond being “Dracula’s Castle”, however if you’re going here for a Dracula experience, you’ll likely be disappointed.
We really enjoyed the history of the place, learning about Queen Marie and Princess Ileana, but the Dracula element felt like an afterthought or a bit of a sop for tourists.
The Castle owners are proud of their family’s history with the castle, and understandably so, but we suspect if they made the two Dracula themed rooms a paid extra, they’d get a strong picture of why people are visiting the castle.
The history is great, the people connected to the castle are fascinating, but we did think there was a better way to give people what they think they’re paying for whilst also honouring the castle’s other legacy.
The extra exhibitions were well worth the money as they are not only great in themselves, but they also gave us a little respite from the thronging crowds.
