点评:A Breathtaking Site, but a Chaotic Entry Experience
Visiting the Taj Mahal was a dream come true. Seeing this iconic mausoleum, the final resting place of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz, in person was absolutely breathtaking. The sheer beauty and grandeur of this UNESCO World Heritage site make it a must-visit for anyone traveling to India.
However, the entry process was unexpectedly chaotic. We arrived before 6 AM to get in line, but by the time the gates opened, it felt like a mob scene. As a group of women, we were shocked to find only one security line for females, while the men had multiple. The pushing and shoving were so intense that I was physically knocked into a wall. There was no clear organization or crowd control, and for the first time in India, I felt genuinely unsafe.
Given how important the Taj Mahal is as a global landmark, I was surprised by the lack of security measures to properly manage the crowds. I visited in March just before Holi, so perhaps that played a role, but I hope the authorities improve this aspect of the experience. Despite this, seeing the Taj Mahal itself was absolutely worth it.
