点评:I am writing this review because so many of the previous reviews seem to expect something other than a botanical garden, and expect a manicured presentation of the plants. We had a very interesting walk through the Jardín, learned quite a bit about numerous trees, and even saw some (unexpected) animals. I would definitely recommend it as a lovely change from beach-time while in Puerto Morelos or nearby, particularly if you have any interest in plants.
The Jardin offers a fascinating walk through the transition zone between coastal mangroves and the semi-deciduous forest. There is signage in English and Spanish (some signs are only in Spanish) describing the major trees with information about the type of tree and how it has been and is used by people. In addition, there are a few cultural recreations -- a Mayan village, a chiclé harvesting campsite -- and a small archeological site. In addition, a viewing tower has been rebuilt so you can glimpse the whole area from on high if you wish.
It is very low-key, but a great way to learn a bit more about the flora of the region.
N.b. We did not need bug repellent until we got the stretch of the path that runs next to the mangroves.
