点评:Spynie Palace has been on my to visit list for the past 3 years and finally this holiday we managed to visit.
Firstly it is easy to locate, very well sign posted. The car park is ample and it is a short walk from here to the gate of the Palace.
I paid for our tickets in advance online as it said to do so on the historic scotland website but the gentleman in the little cabin asked did i want to pay so you can pay on the day.
I bought the guidebook which to be honest i read once i got home being an avid history fan. It explains alot on the History of the area.
The gentleman talked us round the site ie the route to take. He was very friendly and welcoming.
The palace itself is beautiful and the information boards are very informative.
You can go into the roof areas and climb up the staircase but my nerves got the better of me! I have to add we brought our Norweigian elkhound with us and the gentleman wasn't phased about her going in the roof area. Narla at 3 has toured Scotland Historical sites and is very calm respectful dog obviously some dogs may not be but thank you to the gentleman for allowing her in.
The cabin has little shop items and a toilet but we didn't buy anything. We also found a lovely walk through the woods and strolled through a country lane for 30 minutes which was lovely.
Spynie Palace was worth the visit. I would definately pay the £7.50 again to just stroll about and take in a part of history.
