点评：I just briefly saw a couple of reviews. I am going to write my review from the heart. If you want to be a tourist go elsewhere. If you want the real deal and support an institution come here! I came to Bar Sur with two friends in November 2024. I came partly because I wanted to see the Tango as I had read about it in literature, how I heard it on record and also how I saw it in Anthony Bourdain's excellent programme on Buenos Aires in 2018 (it is featured heavily). It is the most intimate show in the most intimate setting. We went to the port just before of La Boca. If you know anything about the origins of the Tango you will know it came via the ports and was a dance that was truly provocative for its time. But tourists know so little about these origins. The 'rip off' comments are completely delusional. There is a four piece band plus six dancers. What planet do people live on when it comes to supporting the arts? I fully believe this is one of the most wonderful things to see in Buenos Aires in the historically interesting and oldest district of San Telmo. If you don't appreciate the last bastion of true unique culture that still exists in this fabulous city go elsewhere; spend your money on a cabaret performance and come away with a Disney Land version of what you think Tango is. I cannot underestimate how great this performance was and it's only an hour but how wonderful to spend an hour here; how brilliant the dancers were and how good the band were. Shame on those who leave negative comments on this place. Duende is a word not easily googleable but I give you this which I have googled because Lorca said it so much better but I am writing this in haste: It can be loosely translated "as having soul, a heightened state of emotion, expression, and heart." And that's what this show has in spades.
