点评：Really enjoyed visiting this property and the guide who showed us around was excellent. Ese was a delight, and often mentioned on TA. She is so knowledgeable about the property, the author and his family. I learned so much from her. Loved the big extension to the house that was done by RLS to provide his mother with a huge suite after her complaining of the small bedroom on the ground floor. But the highlight of the tour for me was Ese’s rendition of an RLS poem ‘Requiem’ as a song at the end of the tour. Such a moving experience, for her and for us. So if you are offered the choice of a guide or looking around the house on your own, go with the guide.
We also wish we had worn some other footwear so we could do the walk to RLS grave, which is high on a hill behind the house.
