点评：We took a bus from Hisarönü to Gemiler beach. In the summer they run every hour. Be prepared to spend the whole day there as the bus back doesn’t leave until 5:20pm and there is only one. I have yet to find out how everyone will fit on it!
Gemiler beach is like a much smaller and quieter lagoon compared to the jam packed Ölüdeniz. The island has plenty of ruins to look round but it can only be reached by water taxi from the beach. There is nowhere to buy a drink once you get to the island so take water with you.
There appears to be only one water taxi company and one restaurant on the beach. It is VERY expensive. A glass of wine is 300 lira (£7.50) and some chips are 200 (about £5 currently). Comparatively a glass of wine in our hotel is 200.
It is 50 lira each to enter the beach, sunbeds and umbrellas are chargeable, we were charged 1500 lira for the water taxi which takes about 5 minutes to cross to the island and will pick you up when you want. Once on the island you need to pay another 105 lira to enter the ruins. Only go to the island if you want to see the ruins as there is nothing else there.
If you eat or drink in the beach restaurant make a note of what you have and how much it is because they will rip you off. We were charged 60 lira for a large bottle of water then they tried charging us 150 for 2 bottles later on. Several other customers were having to query their bills. It’s also worth noting there are signs everywhere saying you can’t bring your own food to the beach. Fortunately we did.
A shame as the place is lovely but once you’re there you’re stuck there and liable to be ripped off.
