How Art Can Change a Neighborhood

点评：Wynwood is an artsy neighborhood in Miami that illustrates the impact the arts can have on a city and its residents. Historically, the neighborhood ethnic Puerto Rican neighborhood just outside of the Downtown core. It the latter part of the 20th Century it was stagnate and even deteriorating. In the midst of a declining market, the neighborhood turned by agree to embrace art, street art in particular. The decision brought artist and galleries to the neighborhood. It also created Wynwood Walls to be an artistic venue for street art which spilled over to art displays on buildings in the neighborhood. By 2010, the arts emphasis had turned the economic position of the neighborhood around and it was now an appreciating. While Wynwood Walls is still here, many of the artist have had to leave Wynwood to escape rising cost. If you like street art, you need to visit. There are all kinds of art on display in the neighborhood. I highly recommend you visit the neighborhood and walk around. For me I found the neighborhood interesting and safe. With that said, there is an edge to the neighborhood that is not embraced by everyone.
