Santuario de colibríes - Ensifera Ensifera的点评
点评：This excellent Hummingbird garden is famous for Green tailed train bearer and Swordbill hummingbird from which the garden takes its’ name. There are a number of other species ever present including a couple of endemics.
It is a little remote, 3km up a rough track but benefits from little disturbance and the gardens and surroundings are beautiful with some trails around the grounds.
I visited on a Sunday and despite it being quite busy with some noisy kids the birds did not disappoint. Coffee and food is available, there are various momentous for sale, t-shirts, fridge magnets etc and the staff are very friendly and helpful pointing out the birds.
The entrance fee is twenty soles and it is possible to go “on the cheap” without a guide as I did. I took a collectivo from Cusco to Urabamba (1 hour) for 10 soles and a taxi from Urabamba to Yanahura for 30 soles. Many organised tours go there regularly and are likely to solicit for business for trips to other sites.
If like me you love hummingbirds you can’t go wrong with a visit here. The birds can be viewed a very close quarters and good photos can be taken with a phone although I did use a camera and big lens for the pics in this review.
