点评:Beside University Ave-McGill on the Northside of Durocher (North of Starbucks), we rented bicycles by credit card and rode along there (rue Prince Arthur), which cuts through pedestrian pathways or various parks past the nuns’ Saint Denis- Rue Cherrier to Le Plateau. At the end of Cherrier is a large park, which has more paths for riding North toward Avenue Mont Royal. Across from Parc des Compagnons-Le-Saint-Laurent there were vegan Umami ramen and cheap Middle Eastern sandwiches, and we stopped at a bench around rue Cartier to eat—kitty corner to the park. Then rode on to O Petit Paris for cappuccino and dessert on the patio, and past a few thrift stores and more patio bars or restos. You can ride back South by following rue de La Roche or return the bikes a block or two (to the left) beforehand beside Chambord, which we did, walking the final twenty-minute stretch West on Mont Royal to the Metro train at rue Berri. Along the way, we paid by visa and packed a dozen bagels that came with 3 free spreads at Dechire et BBagels; and souvenirs in the backpack were from a bookstore further on. If paying by cash, in between the two places there’s a Korean acupuncture/health clinic that sells various aged ginseng, bee-royal jelly and jasmine teas. There’s nothing like summer in Montreal, and Mont Royal is the closest to an old Main Street experience you’ll find in the city!
