Scenic Stop with Proper Planning - April Visit
Miradouro Da Lagoa Do Fogo的点评
点评：While we were visiting the area in April the road wasn't closed and you could easily pass through all the vista stops and take EN5-2A from Lagoa to Ribeira Grande - I am not sure where the road is exactly closed when it is (we asked around our hotel and other places and they told us in April we are good to go)... but not getting to the vista point would least of my concerns here as most likely you would want to pass through the area south to north or north to south - and there are plenty of vista stops along the way.
The parking lot is pretty plentiful and allowing for a turn around to exit but in April it was already full... makes sense that they control the traffic here in the busier months... otherwise it would be a chaos and people blocking the road that is leading to the parking lot. My favorite part was the little "lower" level in the crater's edge allowing you to see both the lake and the actual ocean in the background - pretty cool combo!
This is also an area where people seemed to start there trails/hikes down to the actual lake, which further limited the parking availability despite decent capacity.... add to the fact that you need to take a walk, short although still, from the parking lot to the actual vista point and you can see easily how the place becomes chaos once again :)
TIP" If you can get here and pass through the area go for it, just to come here and take a bus/abide special traffic I wouldn't do it as there are other vista points in the area allowing to see the Lagoa Do Fogo pretty nicely - if hike is a must... different story as the parking lot is perfectly situated for this
