点评：We just spent a month in Mazatlan. I disagree with some reviews. The marines , border patrol and police are there to show everyone a presence. A feel of safety.
While we were there for thirty days we heard of only 2 things. A vehicle accident up the main road and a small cartel issue out of town.
Everything there is pretty peaceful. In all the tourist areas. Centro, Golden Zone & Cerrito. We were not scared one bit. We were out day and night. Until about 11pm. I expect to remain quiet with the exception of carnival. They love their carnivals.
I found the whole area was senior ex pats & locals / Mexicans. A nice mix. Not a place for the young or for swimmers. The water is always rough.
My 2 biggest complaints were 1) the noise. ..Stereos, off road dune buggy’s and cars & bikes with no mufflers. 2) it’s pretty smoggy. . Every night. I felt like I had a few cigarettes.
Also. Distracted drivers have the right away. Over pedestrians. Haha. As crazy as that is.
We have no regrets in going. Saying that. I don’t think we’ll go back.
