More than a bridge? - Landmark of Bratislava - Jul 2024

点评：If you are sort of surprised by the title of the review, I think you will find some answers if you are going to read this review to its end - or you get more questions? It is up to you to decide.
The SNP bridge has several names - it was known as the "New Bridge" it is also nicknamed the "UFO bridge" ... so here it is in Bratislava, built across the mighty Danube
The bridge was built in the late 60's early 70's and was opened for traffic in 1972 - so it is fairly new. It is more the 400 m long and almost 85 m tall.
The upper deck is for vehicular traffic only - but underneath that one - there is also a pedestrian walkway ( also used by cyclists) - so you can cross it either on foot either by the vehicle you are travelling in.
On top of the single pilon you shall see a flying saucer like structure - there my fellow travelers you can find a restaurant - an excellent restaurant , a few month ago I wrote a review about it, you can find it on TA if interested - and on top of the restaurant you will find and observation deck - if the weather is good, you shall have no problem with enjoying the view.
And if you are in for some extreme experiences - you can try the "skywalk" ... this one I will not disclose, I let you find out what is all about.
