点评：A friend and I were greeted warmly by Irma, the artist's charming daughter who is the home owner & docent. We first walked through the lovely garden with its stunning sculptures, unique path and lush plants. The Rainbow tree was just one of the exotic specimens. We learned about the original duplex that her gifted and indefatigable father had transformed into a a single family home/museum. It was a delightfully entertaining tour of the home of an extraordinary artist, craftsman, and innovator. I kept asking myself "When did this man sleep?" She is passionate about introducing her very special father to visitors and includes many anecdotes about Reuben Hale, the man. In addition to his artistic and architectural accomplishments he was tremendously important to the early development of Palm Beach State College as both a teacher and administrator. This is really a unique museum because you are in the artist's home hearing stories from the daughter who actually knew the man and watched him work.
You have to call and make an appointment but it is an awesome experience and I would recommend this to everyone interested in art, architecture, gardens, Florida history, and especially phenomenal people. In addition to his myriad artistic works, there are works by many other artists on display. There is a limit of 10 people on a tour. Parking is available in the driveway. The home is air conditioned. The tour of the garden takes about 30 minutes and the house another hour. I truly felt like a guest in her home and not a tourist.
