点评:I was on a cruise and ended up taking an excursion to Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios, Jamaica on 3/10/25. They have a “mini zoo” path you can take to pet bunnies. As someone who has house bunnies, I wanted to cry. They had 5 large bunnies, each in a tiny cage about 4 feet off the ground with their cage doors left wide open. All of the cages had jagged wire flooring, some with holes large enough for the bunny to fall through. Others had large chunks of exposed edges that the bunny will get cut or poke an eye. None of them have a way to get off the wire bottoms, and one poor bunny had even chicken-coop wire flooring, so it has to sit in its food bowl to avoid sore hocks. None of them had food. One didn’t have water (until I filled it). And there was not one speck of hay or grass anywhere to indicate that those poor creatures have ever seen it (hay is supposed to be 80% of a rabbit’s diet…). Toenails are overgrown, and I would guess their teeth are too considering they have no hay or anything else to chew on. Absolutely horrid to see. What’s even worse is that this place sees thousands of visitors per year and it reinforces that this treatment of bunnies is ok. I am so freaking mad. I have a 4+ minute video that depicts everything.
