Authentic Locally Grown Coffee and Chocolate Experience on a Small Family Farm

点评：We did the coffee and chocolate experience having been recommended to come here by the owner at Cecropia Lodge.
The farm is run by a local family with parents and 2 sisters. They brought in an extra person to interpret to English for us. We were joined by a Brazilian family on the day that were just doing chocolate.
The experience involved a tour through the farm, forest and plantations. We were taken through various plants that we could smell or taste. We picked Cacao and coffee beans to bring back for the process. We saw a sloth in the jungle while walking through.
Once back from a good long exploration, we were taken through several processes and tastings were we could try hot chocolate drinks and then make our own chocolates, which we were given to takeaway with us. Similarly we roasted the coffee, ground it and drank it. Then we had a small meal that was prepared for us.
Finally there was a bit of fun when a couple of toucans were eating some banana at the back of the kitchen area and dropped it, and then had to decide what they wanted to do about it.
It sounds a bit twee, but the experience was really enjoyable, authentic, and great fun. I'd really recommend it.
