点评：Review: A Hidden Gem of an Elephant Sanctuary in Krabi
Tucked away in the beautiful landscapes of Krabi, this quaint local elephant sanctuary is an absolute gem.
The elephants here are among the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, with striking orange markings on their trunks and ears—something unique to the local Thai elephant population. What stood out most was the sanctuary’s commitment to their well-being. They have daily mud baths and regular walks, no matter how many visitors are present, which was reassuring to see, especially as it was quiet when I visited.
Rather than overwhelming the elephants with constant human interaction, the sanctuary allows visitors to interact with just one elephant at a time, with each taking turns. This approach ensures they remain comfortable and stress-free. Learning that these gentle giants eat around 300kg of food per day was mind-blowing!
Walking alongside them, feeding them, and getting involved in the mud bath was a magical experience. You can go all in with the mud or, like me, just use a small bucket and rinse off afterward—either way, it’s unforgettable.
The staff were warm, welcoming, and eager to answer any questions. At the end of the visit, we were treated to refreshing water and delicious fresh pineapple, a perfect way to wrap up the day.
This sanctuary isn’t as well advertised as some of the bigger ones in Krabi, but that makes it even more special. If you’re looking for a responsible, up-close, and personal elephant experience, I highly recommend it!
