点评：My wife and I wanted to learn how to sail and explore whether we wanted to invest in more live-aboard sailing trips. We found George via YouTube and booked the "share & sail" program as the final stop of our 3.5-month European honeymoon. It was the highlight. We loved it. 10/10.
George is a really smart business owner who thinks very hard about his customers' experiences. Right now, he has four boats, and they are all PERFECTLY set up for this type of "cabin-charter" experience that makes the "share & sail" program so unique.
So what is a cabin-charter you ask?
Well, as opposed to a full boat charter (where you rent the whole boat yourself) cabin charters allow you to rent out a single cabin on a pre-planned trip. You don't need to plan the itinerary, recruit friends, or figure out how to split costs. You just sign up for a trip (which is guaranteed to leave even if it doesn't fill up) and be excited to meet new friends!
George's boats are unique because each cabin on the boat (our had 4 with 1 crew in the front) has its own wet bathroom with a toilet & shower inside each cabin. This is HUGE in terms of being OK with sharing a boat with strangers... because you only share common areas.
The boat felt spacious, with a nice kitchen, fridge, freezer, inside table, table in the back, and really nice deck in the front to lay out on. It is beastly sailing, but also has solid engines so if the wind isn't doing much you'll just use the engines to get around (which we do about 60% of the time).
Our skipper was delightful. He was so knowledgeable, patient, and kind. We talked a lot about Greek culture, compared different ways of living, and shared life stories.
The itinerary was amazing and felt effortless. We often ate breakfast on the boat, then traveled a bit to a beautiful swimming spot, then went to another island to port & explore. There was also snorkel masks, fins & pool noodles for us to use, too!
Being able to sleep in little ports throughout the Cyclades islands was awesome. Everything was within walking distance once anchored... and we had some of the best food we had in our entire 3.5 month trip. Even though some the islands were small (which was delightful!), we always found amazing spots to eat - including vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Our favorite activities were walking the shorelines of these AMAZING islands, making sand castles, walking through windy white-washed alleyways, and peaking into cute stores.
I liked going in late September / early Oct in the shoulder seasons - felt way less crowded but still lively.
So if you want to experience the Greek islands - or try live-aboard sailing - George is your guy. He makes it affordable, fun and effortless.
Bonus points if you can organize a trip with friends/family and charter multiple rooms on one of the trips... that would make it even more fun!
