A pleasant stay in this decent hotel. but new owners will need to sort out Mercure's neglect of the property.

点评：We stayed for one night in late April ’25 in the ‘contemporary’ accommodation rather than the old hall. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the common areas are of a high standard. The room was neat, clean and tidy and though the bathroom was clean, the bath itself could do with some renovation/replacement. However, we were happy with our stay.
Externally the main 'old' building is impressive and set among very nice scenery. The properties could clearly benefit from a refresh, but to be fair the current owners only took over in February and they’ve clearly been left with a maintenance backlog by Mercure, the previous owners.
The only other major downside is the £10 for hotel guests to use the pool! I’ve never stayed at a hotel which charged extra for that and didn’t take them up on it here!
