Spectacular Canyon, moderate Rim Hike but great amenities at Kings Canyon Resort

点评：Following our Uluru experience, we drove out to Kings Canyon Resort for 2 nights. This is a 3.5 hour drive from ARR along sealed roads.
Again, the powered campsite is very well appointed with a pub, convenience store, petrol station, sunset deck and bar, showers and amenities. There are rooms and glamping accommodation as well.
We prepared ourselves for the major hike of the trip, the Kings Canyon Rim Hike. This hike requires 500+ rock steps in the first 600 metres of the trail, and both hiking boots and poles are strongly recommended. In summer, you have to embark prior to 9 AM. Various Defib and emergency service locations exist along the hike, and reinforce the severity of this climb.
However, it is certainly worth the effort and delivered the most spectacular scenery and environment for the entire week. It is listed as a 3.5 – 4.5 hour hike, but the reality is that the number of jaw-dropping photo opportunities means that you end up taking your time. And if you have issues with heights, observe the cliff warning signs. And if you want a short cut, helicopter rides are offered.
