点评:I've wanted to visit this beach ever since watching a Youtuber and jewellery maker who visits from Italy to collect her seaglass here. As the tide went out and with only a couple of hours before sunset I headed down to the beach and soon saw the throngs of people bent over or kneeling on the still wet sand and pebbles. Some people dig, some people spot by eye, some people scrape off the top layer of pebbles with their foot (me). Some people have gloves, trowels, torches and knee pads, others have a plastic bag and a lot of hope (me). I got a decent haul for a first-timer, it takes a while to get your eye in and to remember to watch out for the odd stray wave chasing in. I found mainly small bits but a good range of colours and wished there'd been more time. The beach itself is beautiful and I had the benefit of a stunning sunset as I left. Seaham town is about 15mins walk away and the station about 25 walk with trains to Newcastle and Middlesborough. Check the tide times (BBC website is good) before you go.
