More Than I Expected
Harbour Town Lighthouse and Museum的点评
点评：As a traveler, I am accustomed to seeing lighthouses and taking photos,taking a quick tour, and moving on. But Harbour Town lighthouse was so much more! The lighthouse was fun to see, has history along the walls as you climb the 114 steps, and has a small shop where you buy tickets and a few souvenirs as well as another shop at the top with a number of nice souvenirs or gifts. Both ladies we encountered in the shops were very hospitable and made you feel like they hoped you enjoyed your visit. The steps are divided into maybe 8 or 10 steps at each level so it is not a hard climb. There are signs on the outside at the top so you know what places you are seeing in the distance. The area around the lighthouse makes you want to stay a while. There are shops and a few eateries, which I was not expecting. There are many chairs, benches, and even picnic tables to make your visit welcoming and enjoyable. There is a parking lot very close to the lighthouse but it is small and fills quickly. The sign there says 3 hour limit, strictly enforced. There is also a nice pier here that you can walk on to enjoy the views. This stop surprised me by being more than I was expecting and even nicer than I was expecting. Enjoyed it!
