One of the oldest Jyotirling and the biggest pilgrim place for all Indians, this place does not only hold a religious significance but also a historic one. The history of Somnath is interwoven with mythology, dhrama, valour and unity. The temple stands tall and strong on the Arabian sea coast and its magnanimous appearance towers above all. The newly constructed pomegrade and the facilities created by the Govt. of India to ensure smooth and comfortable darshan for all are commendable. It is very easy to get in, have a darshan till your heart is full of divine power and come out with his blessings for lifetime. Also, the view points and pomegrade add a very beautiful touch to this temple.
Not to forget the light and sound show that is organized every evening. It is a must see show for all as it highlights not only the mythology behind this temple but also the history where this temple has been destroyed and built back many times highlighting the resilience and perseverance of mankind's faith. Words will never be enough to detail the feeling of being at this place. To know it you have to experience it.
