点评：It is a popular place so be warned. Parking can be hard to come by with people parking along the roadside. There are however numerous pay and display car parks in the area. If they are all full and you don’t mind an additional twenty minute walk, drive onto Crummock Water where there is room on the roadside. From here walk along the edge of the water and take the obvious path through a wood and you’ll come out at the National Trust car park. Walk down the hill and you’ll easily pick up the path past the hotels to Buttermere. The circular route is easy and will take around two and a half hours. The paths are well maintained and generally even.
The scenery is spectacular, especially if you walk anti clockwise as you will have a constant view of Fleetwith Pike.
The return route includes going through the rock tunnel. The hotels and cafe provide freshments and toilets on your return.
