点评：On March 19, 2025, my wife and I (ages 63 and 65 respectively) had a great time on the Black Abyss tour. Our guides were Callie and Harry, and they did a fabulous job from start to finish.
We started off by gearing up and then our small group was driven to the cave site. After some instruction and practice on our equipment, we descended (one by one) 115 feet into the cave.
The zipline was short and in the dark, and basically got us from point A to B. Jumping into the water on one’s tube was unexpected but fun, and the water was definitely cold. Walking in the water was a little difficult at times but added to the experience. Floating on the tubes and seeing the glow worms was amazing, and climbing out of the cave was fun albeit a little challenging. Throughout the tour Callie and Harry were friendly, humorous, and informative.
This was a great experience and one of the highlights of our 54-day trip to New Zealand. If you want a fun and interesting tour you’ll not easily forget, this is the tour for you!
