Australia Zoo的点评
点评：Australia Zoo is absolutely incredible. The staff is so friendly and will go out of their way to help you and answer any questions you have. There are frequent presentations about different animals in their enclosure where a staff member gives fun facts and sometimes passes around different things to look at or touch (an elephant tooth - no animals themselves). The zoo is LARGE. I cannot emphasize good walking shoes enough. There is a shuttle to get you around if you need it. Beware the walk to Africa is a commitment but so worth it! Since the crocoseum is currently closed for renovations, the croc show is right next door and is still really neat! Staff makes sure to feed each croc so everyone gets to see something. Make sure to arrive early for a good seat! The food is ok, not great not bad but does the job for the day. I thought the gift ship was moderately priced and about what I expected. I also did the koala encounter and you get to hold one for a few minutes and then learn about them up close. It’s expensive but truly a bucket list experience (Queenie the koala is a gem). There’s a playground and a water park for the kids as well. You can buy kangaroo food at guest services for $3 and then walk through the enclosure and they’ll come up and eat out of your hand! Steve’s legacy lives on so strongly and it’s amazing to see all the work the zoo does to educate about the importance of conservation as well as everything they do at the animal hospital. Considering the train from Brisbane is 50 cents currently, this is an awesome day trip!
