Be aware that chances of seeing the whale sharks are low during rain season

点评：We did the whale shark tour in February.
Before booking I asked what the chances are to see them during rain season. I was told that the chances are good, only it might be uncomfortable on the boat if it rains. And that that is the only reason that people say that the dry season is the best season to see them.
As we don’t mind if it rains, we booked a flight and hotel.
Already when we arrived we heard from different local people that the chances to see the whale sharks in February are low.
But as we already traveled all the way to Sumbawa, we still went on the tour.
It’s a long drive (in total 4h in the car and 4h with the boat). And unfortunately we didn’t see them. Of course it is still nature, but I feel like I wasn’t informed correctly about the odds to see the whale sharks in February. The trip to Sumbawa cost us 2 days of our holiday plus the expenses for flights, hotel and the tour.
If we would have known that it’s not a good month to see them, we wouldn’t have made that trip.
I hope they will be more honest to customers asking about the chances of seeing the whale sharks.
