点评:Another suggestion from friends was to visit Ellenborough Falls which are one and a half hours outside of Port Macquarie. Ellenborough Falls is the tallest single drop waterfall in New south Wales, with a drop of 200 metres it is amongst the tallest in the southern hemisphere. The distance to the falls from Port Macquarie is 80kms but the road gets a little bit hairy as you get closer slowing you down to drive to the conditions. The Ellenborough River eventually flows into the Hastings River after dropping off the Bulga Plateau into a gorge at the falls. There had been quite a bit of rain this week so the falls were quite heavy which was really good luck for us. The lookout to the falls is at the car park so it is easy for everyone to access, there is a walk down to the head of the falls which is 80mts from the car park initially down a dirt track that has been graded into steps to make it a bit easier before finally coming to the wooden stairs that lead the remainder of the way to the lookout at the head. It was worth walking down here to get a different view of the gorge and the river.
