Pont Tibetà | Canillo的点评
点评：a few things no website or tourist information office will ever make clear to you
- you can drive all the way up, but tourist information office will discourage you bc there are limited parking spots (< 10 along the side of road, then some random corner you manage to squeeze in).
- therefore, they will ask you to take the bus from the base of the hill. just look for "Pont Tibetà - Parada d'autobús de Canillo" on google map, it is next to Total gas station in Canillo town, a stone's throw from the ice skating rink. the bus leaves every half hour starting 30 min before the first bridge access (10 am in November)
- the alternative is to drive all the way to Mirador del Roc del Quer, and park there, then walk down (30 min) or take the bus down to bridge access point. there are more parking spots here by the Mirador.
- once you reach the Tibetan Bridge access point, you still have to walk another 900m uphill to reach the actual start point of the metal suspension bridge.
- the bridge closes for the season once the first major snowfall occur in Andorra. I lucked out by visiting the second last weekend in November, which happen to be a bluebird day. but be aware that the bridge may close earlier than that, all depends on weather. and the next time the bridge will open again is June.
- all in all, you need to allocate 3h mininum for both bridge and mirador visit, if going by bus. if by car and using the tricks i mentioned above, you may shave off 45 min from the stated time.
there is a combo discounted ticket if you visit both bridge and mirador on the same day.
as for the bridge itself, i am amazed by how stable it is. no swaying or even any wobbling, so it is a pure walk across the gorge, high above.
