点评:Well, my second day in Zhangjijie, now i understand how things works here 😅 It wasnt easy for me to find this informarion before heading here so im sharing with you.
You definetly should stay a night in Zhangjiajie downtown in order to take a day tour in Tianmen Mountain (Heavens Gate place and much more up in the Mountain). Thats because the cable car or the bus up departs from Zhangjiajie downtown area. After that (or before, the order depends on you) you can spend some days staying in Wulingyuan center area (around 40km from downton Zhangjiajie). In that way u gonna be much closer to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Avatar Mountains) and to the Grand Canyon (Glass Bridge).
I ended up staying just in downtown area because of lack of information. Spend around 200Y each Didi trip to Wulingyuan area. Hotels in downtown are cheapear but further from Wulingyuan (Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Grand Canyon/Glass Bridge), thats something you should consider.
But, back to the Grand Canyon and Glass Bridge now. Decided to do by my own, without any guides or drivers (but the Didi that i requested). The park its OK signalized, could be easier for us westerns. I bought the “Grand Canyon + Glass Sky Walk” ticket. Didnt know what that meant since no one on the ticket station spoke english, but it sounded good. It turned out that, at least on winter time, if you buy just the Glass Sky Wall ticket its fines. It gives you acess to the Glass Sky Wall (Glass brigde), Glass Walkaway and Sightseen Elevator (a huge elevator), wich is pretty every angle you got to see. You even can go down some (a lot of) stair cases until the Rainbow Square so that you can have the up view of the Canyon. After that all the elevators up wont cost you anything. On the Rainbow Square if you boght the + Canyon ticket you are able to take a boat and walk 4km by the Canyon and exit on the lower side of the Canyon (didnt know that and my parents didnt want to do the hike). So we took all the elevators up , and glass bridge again and exited by the same entrance we got in.
So in the end of the day, if its winter time and you dont wanna hike, just buy the Glass Sky Walk Option, without any guide and you will be fine.
There are a few more adventure atractions in there like bungee jumping, Via ferrera, Zipline. fly VR, Wuwangpo Slide, but you have to buy in the beggining of the tour at the ticket
