Disappointing Experience & Poor Communication
I emailed three times in the weeks leading up to the Cheltenham Gold Cup regarding my partner’s Blue Badge parking, as she suffers from severe anxiety following a life-threatening stroke. We received no response and were left in the dark, forcing us to take a gamble on the day. We ended up parking at a rugby club nearly two miles away, which meant we missed the first race and had to leave before the last.
To make matters worse, my emails were finally answered five days after the event—a clever tactic to avoid dealing with issues beforehand, but I’m not fooled by it.
As for the event itself, the racing was fantastic, and the general atmosphere was great. However, the crowd was another story. Many young lads were covered in more Guinness than they drank, with some so intoxicated they were rolling around on the floor. I’m all for a good time, but this was embarrassing.
Would I rush back after this experience? No.
