A challenging exhibition of modern art in a mostly modern building near the old town barrio. Free entry.

点评：MACA is mainly housed in an ugly modernist building in Calle de la Villavieja, beside the hotel Milagrossa, more or less opposite the much more visually attractive medieval basilica of Santa Maria. Its architecture beats MACA hands down, no contest.
I saw an exhibition by a reputed Spanish artist - I can't recall her name. It was challenging and (like many other modern artworks) puzzling - perhaps even baffling. It wasn’t particularly memorable or beautiful but it was striking. Some images were definitely provocative; others were simply difficult to make any real sense of. I guess the artist would possibly not mind. You can post sticky notes in response to questions - but all the questions and most of the answers were in Spanish; and my Spanish is muy limited! The exhibition is free - a good point.
The modern part of the gallery is ugly and brutalist outside, but inside is a light and pleasing space. I didn't have time to see the Picassos or Dalis.
