Restoration House的点评
点评：This house feels very different to a National trust or English Heritage property, probably because as well as being of historical significance it's actually lived in throughout and filled with the character and interests of its owner. He has gathered together so many things of interest and has an eclectic taste. The house is full to the brim with fascinating objects and also manages to feel warmly homely and well loved. If you visited regularly you would probably notice something different on each occasion. There were a lot of volunteers who were obviously very dedicated and keen to share their knowledge and enthusiasm. Even the toilets (which are outdoors) were old fashioned and strewn with fresh lavendar.
The gardens were a big surprise as I thought they would be smallish but there was a lot more to them than you would guess. There are interlinking sections of garden (and chairs and tables for people who want to take their treats from the cafe to eat and drink outside) and they have been marvellously well cared for and designed with flair and a sense of adventure. There are fruit trees, fountains, upper and lower levels, fish, statues, beautiful flowers (in August anyway) and a green house.
