Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki的点评
点评：The "Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Θεσσαλονίκης" (Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, or AMTH) is one of the most important museum in Greece. It holds artifacts from the Prehistoric, Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods, both from the city of Thessaloniki, and also from the region of Macedonia.
There are eight permanent exhibits:
- Prehistoric Macedonia,
- Towards the birth of cities,
- Macedonia from the 7th century BC to late antiquity,
- Thessaloniki, the metropolis of Macedonia,
- The gold of the Macedonians, with artefacts from the cemeteries of Sindos, Agia Paraskevi, Nea Filadelfia, Makrygialos, Derveni, Lete, Serres, and Evropos - according to me, this is the best section,
- Field-House-Garden-Place,
- Memory and Stones,
- Macedonia: from mosaics to pixels
Unfortunately, at the time of my visit (March 2025) the museum shop was closed for refurbishments, and there were no info on when it would reopen.
