点评：“Stunning Beach with Mixed Experiences”
Praia Castelhanos is an absolute gem—a gorgeous stretch of sand and sea that’s well worth the adventure of driving in with a 4WD. The journey itself adds to the charm, and the reward is a stunning, pristine beach. If you can, charter your own boat and go there from the town Center. The tour boats didn’t look that special.
However, the experience depends heavily on where you choose to stop. There’s a bar in the middle that seems to cater to the boat tour crowd—it’s always crowded, and we avoided it altogether. At the quieter boat access end of the beach, there are two bars/restaurants with very different vibes.
The furthest one (boat access end) was disappointing—staff were rude, unaccommodating, and showed zero interest in serving customers. Definitely skip this spot. Fortunately, the one right next to it more than made up for it! Super friendly and attentive staff, excellent food, reasonable prices, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s apparently the original place here, so make a beeline for it. Red chairs and red tables. Can’t remember the name sorry. John and John were excellent hosts.
Overall, Praia Castelhanos is a must-visit for the beach itself, but choose your dining spot wisely to make the most of your day.
