点评:We visited the Sheringham Museum at the Mo (opened in 2010) on a wet May afternoon. The “at the Mo” part of the name relates to a house named MO (after someone called Morag) that previously occupied the seafront site.
Except for the manager, all staff are volunteers and very enthusiastic, once we had paid and entered a volunteer took a while to explain everything about the museum and what to do and see.
Inside we found four former Sheringham lifeboats: information about the town’s history (including replica old shops), stuff about fishing etc as well as details about the local windfarm.
When we visited there was a special exhibit about local churches - Sheringham is full of churches and within 15 miles of the museum there 188 churches (which is amazing as a lot of that area is out at sea) – Norfolk has the greatest density of churches anywhere in the world.
Views from the tower are probably great on a sunny day, but not so good when it's raining.
All together well worth the hour we spent there.
