Perfect seaside holiday location an hour outside of İzmir …

点评：Back at Özbek Akkum beach, my first time in close to 3 years. Özbek is just under a one hour drive from İzmir and a 20 minute drive from the other more well known & better developed seaside town of Urla.
This is an idyllic location to relax and chill out with family and friends, swim in the sea or go sailing, all in an atmosphere that is very genuine. If you prefer a more authentic, less developed coastal village atmosphere, then Özbek Akkum beach is perfect.
The main cobbled street has a string of seafood restaurants all with seating within a meter of the sea. Dinning with the fresh sea air and the sound of the water lapping against the shore is truly special.
There is also a couple of convenience stores which also sell alcohol & cafes and a couple of boutique hotels. The area mainly draws day trippers in summer and the residents of İzmir who have their summer holiday homes in this area. On the whole it is super friendly and relaxed, more so than some of the other more developed seaside holiday locations. I highly recommend Özbek Akkum beach.
