点评:I understand the design concept of using concrete, but somehow the architecture reminded me of shop in the IKEA warehouse - wandering around in enormous empty spaces.
That aside, and the hot springs not really being hot, some small details I felt were overlooked for a venue wanting to be 5 star. For example, pockets on the robes so visitors can carry something to tell the time with so they don't have to search for a clock to know when their massage appointment is coming up. Pockets would also help with carrying credit card or something to pay for food if eating. I had to go all the way back to the locker room to get my cc to be able to eat at the restaurant. Better still, a system that linked the restaurant bill to the locker number so we could pay on the way out.
All up not an unpleasant experience as such, but the food needs commenting on. Over priced and definitely not the wow factor hoped for by an award- winning chef. I had the red rice dish which was enjoyable but no different from what I might get at a good cafe. However the mango crepe dessert was terrible. Cold for a start, bland crepe rolled up and filled with bland creme. Digging the cream out I found a few bits of not-quite-ripe mango inside while the rest decorated the outside. Tasteless chia seed jelly also decorated it. The only thing that had taste was the sweet torched meringue on top. Perhaps some mango coulis in the cream would have helped, but for the price I would expect a warm cooked crepe at the very least.
