点评：This was my husband and I’s first time in Costa Rica! Before we left, a friend of mine who is a travel agent told me to get off the resort and go see what Costa Rica really has to offer. We took her advice and met a sweet man on the beach named John Wayne from Blessings Tours. The first day we spent together with John and Gino we privately toured a rain forest with Maria, our tour guide, who was amazing at helping us capture images of the beautiful wildlife we encountered. We next toured a coffee and cocoa plantation, where we tried fresh coffee, hot cocoa, and sugar cane. It was amazing! Then we had a traditional Costa Rican lunch and toured a beautiful butterfly garden. We ended the day with a gorgeous waterfall on our way back to a relaxing evening at the resort. John and Gino had us laughing and learning all day. Gino was basically a walking encyclopedia and complimented the tour with Maria with an abundance of experience and knowledge about the rainforest and wildlife. We had such a good time that we decided to spend another day with John and recruited a few more people to accompany our private tour the following day. Day 2 was even more exciting than day 1. Day 2 John and Gabriel showed us even more incredible wildlife through Palo Verde National Park, including macaws, hollering monkeys, white face monkeys, crocodiles, tiger herons, blue herons, and plenty more whose names I can’t recall. Then we visited a farm where we learned about traditional family pottery making dating back 4000 years! We were treated to another wonderful traditional lunch before we finished the day at Iguana Park, where the iguanas are like little prehistoric dinosaurs - who happen to love snacks of lettuce!
We highly recommend John Wayne, Gino, and Gabriel and Blessings Tours. We can’t wait to come back and see what else there is to experience with our new friends in Costa Rica!
