点评：This trip was a really special experience! Hanoi was bustling and very busy, so we really wanted more of a countryside experience to decompress. Sam (Sang) was so sweet and accommodating! Tuan our driver is doing this as a hobby and definitely great at navigating around the rally remote areas. They paid attention to our tastes and tried to adjust the tour to our needs since it was private tour. He’s also a pleasure to talk to if you want to learn more about him and Vietnam. Or if you prefer to be left alone, he will give you space to fall asleep or read a book. Getting to see some of the mountain villages, hear about the stories, as well as seeing some beautiful sites like the Nguom Ngao cave (Tiger Cave) and the incredible Ban Gioc waterfalls (Detian Falls)! The cave was unbelievably cool! If you are in decent physical shape, opt to pay more for the extended adventure, but bring grippy shoes as there is water in the cave and spots can be slippery. The waterfalls were really incredible to behold even during the winter, which is the drier season. It is a bit touristy, but I still felt it was totally worth it! Definitely think about hand sanitizer and bringing toilet paper with you. The countryside is beautiful, but many areas are still quite remote, so plumbing is different if you’re traveling from the western side of the world. Ba Be lake was a nice peaceful ride on a boat - great way to end our trip!
