Monserrat Galapagos Cruises的点评
点评：My wife and I spent 12 days on the Monserrat (itineraries A, B and C) in Dec 2024 and we had a great time!
We booked this cruise through Happy Gringo (we would definitely recommend them- ask for Jacky), so we didn't have any experience with the Via Natura/Monserrat admin/booking team. However, the staff onboard were fantastic- friendly, fun, professional, efficient, etc. The food was also great- Chef Daniel and Alina took great care of us. Just like any tour, you're bound to get some strange/unique people in your tour group but there were also many super nice individuals from all around the world. In addition, our guides (Pablo and Javier) were super knowledgeable, always focused on our safety and really made the trip.
The ship itself was very clean and well maintained. I'm sure there are many other more luxurious ships to choose from, but that wasn't our focus when we booked. We were much more focused on the daily itineraries and activities done in the water or on the islands. We were in the lower floor (probably the cheapest rooms), but we were very pleased with the room, bed, bathroom, etc. It was a very small room, but again you're only in your room to sleep, shower, get changed, etc so it was more than enough for us.
Again, when we booked the itinerary was our main focus and it did not disappoint. There were a few slower days when we dropped off/picked up guests, but all other days were packed with activities. Most days we would do a morning and afternoon "hike" and at least one snorkel (sometimes two). Everyone's experience will be different (based on the time of year, luck with the animals, who is in your group, etc) but itinerary A was our favorite of the three we completed. In those first 4 days we saw just about every animal that was on our list, on land and in the water. Even on "slower" days, we still appreciated all the different birds, beautiful scenary, thousands of swimming fish, etc. During our time onboard we had guests who did 4, 8, 12 and 15 days trips. I would say 4 days is too short, 8 days is probably a good sweet spot.
Going into the trip, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but our time on the Monserrat exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were awesome, the ship was great and each day was filled with memorable activities. I was bummed to see other negative reviews and complaints about the ship and staff, but those couldn't have been further from our experience and I hope those reviews don't turn you away! Thanks again to the staff onboard and our Galapagos guides, we'll remember those 12 days forever!
