点评：Initially daunted at the thought of being in charge of one of these boats, we but the bullet and booked a week's trip. The training gained from the marina to and through the first lock set us up perfectly to gaining confidence as the week went on. Cruising down the canal was so peaceful and relaxing. We got into the swing with locks even helping other canal users along the way. Some amazing rural mooring stops made us feel detached from outside world adding to the experience and relaxation. Phone reception spotty in areas however this lead to us putting phones down and spending time talking, telling stories and playing board games. There is a TV on board but we only used it to watch the end of Paralympics (at beginning of trip). The on board radio for music much more preferred.
Our dogs were not great fans to begin with but did settle as the week went on. Some great walks along the canal and many dog friendly pubs to choose from.
Would highly recommend giving it a go, we meet many people saying they would love to but worried about controlling and going through the locks. Don't worry, the training you get is comprehensive and you gain confidence as you go. Amazing experience and thankyou for trusting us with your canal boat.
