Museum of the Surrender的点评
点评：We went to Reims primarily to visit the surrender museum, where the Germans surrendered to the Allied Forces in June 1945 to end WW II in Europe.. It is a very low tech museum, which we believe will be undergoing renovations shortly which will result in its temporary closure. However, the main purpose of the museum for us was seeing the room where the surrender occurred. The moment we stepped into that room we were overcome with emotion. The room only consists of a table and chairs, and the walls with various maps that were used by the allies during the war, but that was enough to capture a very compelling moment. As for the rest of the museum, nothing was in English. Really? I know the French are reluctant to speak English, but of all the places in the world where English should be presented along with French, it is the Surrender Museum of World War II. After all, as historians have said, if it would not for the United States, England, Canada, and the Allies, the French would be speaking German today.
