Flamingo refurbishment triumph - café disappointment.

点评：As a family of flamingo fans, we knew we had to pay a visit once we saw the publicity for their refurbished flamingo enclosure. We were not disappointed! A really well laid out space, that gave us the opportunity to be inches away from their large flock of 38 flamingos. We also enjoyed a fun and informative talk in the enclosure as well. (It's worth checking all the talk times when you arrive so you can be in the right place.)
The rest of the park also has lots of other great enclosures, again allowing a clear view - as well as play areas for children too.
It was also good to see, since they'd gone hard on the flamingo-based advertising, that their shop had a large spread of flamingo items to choose from as well, so we added to our collection!
The only thing costing Birdworld the full five stars was a truly disappointing café. Not only was the only gluten free option a jacket potato or just a portion of chips, with the only GF snack being a shrinkwrapped coconut ring, but the other food options did not seem to represent good value for money and were of mediocre quality. It's also a shame to see a large corporate coffee brand used where local providers could have been (especially served from cups with baked-in stains.)
The food offering can make or break a visit to any attraction of this kind and knowing we can't really eat here would affect our planning for future visits.
